Redacted
Production DesignerÂ
In my role as Production Designer and Wardrobe Coordinator for the senior capstone film Redacted, I worked closely with the producer and a fellow production designer to plan and execute the visual elements of the film. This involved creating a detailed list of props, set pieces, and wardrobe elements, and managing the budget to ensure all necessary materials were secured within the financial constraints.
As Production Designer, I was responsible for set design on location, which included overseeing the physical spaces to ensure they supported the narrative and aesthetic of the film. A key challenge was working with an abandoned house location, where we had to clear and prepare the space to make it both safe and visually compelling. I focused on using the environment creatively to enhance the film's atmosphere and maintain a sense of authenticity within the setting.
In my role as Wardrobe Coordinator, I communicated directly with the actors to discuss costume needs and preferences, identifying which elements they could provide themselves and sourcing additional wardrobe pieces that matched their character’s persona. I ensured the costumes were not only period-appropriate but also felt natural within the context of the story, allowing the actors to connect with their characters and contribute to the overall realism of the film.
